Chunmei Jia is a Los Angeles based ceramic artist. Born in China and studied Art History in New York, her pottery practice is pursuing time-honored and hand-crafted techniques originated in different cultural context. Nature has distinct influence on her works, which especially focus on records of the earth's geological formation and materialities of the natural environments. The creations of her objects are a dense collection of ideas and inspirations ranging from ceramic sculptures to daily kitchen vessels, in which art and life are fully merged.
